Hello! My name is Cassie, and I’m a beginner-friendly yoga teacher (RYT-200) who believes that anyone can do yoga, regardless of their age, fitness level, and, yes, flexibility. I believe that yoga is more than just a physical practice. By connecting movement and poses with our breath, yoga can teach us mind-body awareness, help quiet our minds, and open us up to the possibility of deep healing and transformation.

My yoga journey began back in 2013, when I was looking for a fun and easy way to move my body, even though I wasn’t athletic. Since then, I have improved my flexibility and become physically stronger. But what I didn’t expect was that yoga would also teach me invaluable tools and strategies to better manage my stress and anxiety--tools and strategies that I now share with my students.

In my classes, I love to combine flowing movements with the holding of yoga postures in a way that is accessible to all, or can easily be modified to meet each individual student’s needs. I also teach Restorative Yoga, a gentle, meditative style of yoga in which we lay down on the floor, relaxing into poses with the help of bolsters and blankets, and invite the body and mind to sink into a deep, rejuvenating rest.

I received my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification from Yoga for Body and Mind, under the guidance of Mirijana Kocho, in 2017.

Since then, I have taught beginner and intermediate level yoga classes in yoga studios, community centers, and corporate settings—such as Neighbor’s Link, General Electric, and Columbia University—as well as private, one-on-one sessions across Northern Westchester County, New York.

Ready to get started on your own yoga journey, and think I might be the right teacher for you? Check out my weekly schedule of public classes, or book a private yoga session.
